She was born and grew up in Patna, Bihar. She completed her schooling in Patna. She has a graduation degree in the field of Mass Communication which she takes from Patna Women’s College , Bihar. She is brilliant student and she scored 1st rank in all india in economics subject in 12th standard. Her parents want to send her in UPSC but she wanted to become a film director.

Career

She started her career when she was in first year of her graduation in Mass Communication. Firstly she worked for “Times of India”  in Patna. After that to make a big career in this field she moved to capital of India, Delhi. In Delhi she started working for Hindustan times. She moved to digital platform in 1998 when she started working for Zee News as a news anchor in a guidance of subash Chandra. After that she did some work for Sahara.

After she joined Aaj Tak in 2002 She became famous for her aptitude in covering sports-related news.  in 2005 Sweta’s show ”Sourav ka Sixer” won the award for best sports programme by Sports Journalism Federation of India (SJFI). She is still working with Aaj Tak.

She has additionally shown up in certain movies, as Chak De! India and Chakravyuh as an Aaj Tak news moderator. Singh also did the show “History of Patliputra” during the 2015 Bihar legislative assembly political race. She has been nominated for ITA Award for best Anchor.
