Career
Dawna Friesen is a Canadian television journalist, who was named the anchor of Global National on July 13, 2010.
A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and graduate of Red River College, Friesen has worked in journalism since 1985, working in Thunder Bay, Ontario;Winnipeg, Manitoba; Brandon, Manitoba; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Vancouver, British Columbia.She reported and anchored for CBC Television in Vancouver and for CBC Newsworld. She then moved to the CTV as a national reporter for the network, and an anchor for CTV NewsNet. She moved to NBC News in 1999, and was a foreign correspondent in the network's London bureau. She is married to CTV NewsLondon Bureau Chief Tom Kennedy and together they have one son, Lucas.
